Chandi Devi Temple 

The Chandi Devi temple, established by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century A.D., is one of north India's oldest temples. According to Hindu legend, two demons named Shumbh and Nishumbh conquered Lord Indra's old dominion after throwing the Gods out of heaven. The gods' prayers were heard.
